Okay, so this is last spring's picture but I'm a dreamin'.

Back again!

Spring time is here. Yippee!!! The weather is beautiful and the trees are getting their leaves and the grass is greening up. I noticed the wild pink phlox are beginning to bloom. I just love springtime.

We did have some really cold weather about four weeks ago and a part on the pressure pump on our cistern froze and cracked. Evidentally, the same part broke all over the country because there are no replacement parts to be had. Sooooo....we have been out of running water for over four weeks now here at "The Shack". What a pain having to carry water for everything. Thank goodness for the gym membership...they have a wonderful shower. We had the part repaired and had to get a new motor for the pump. Now we're having to replace pipes under the house that were open to the elements due to the remodeling we're doing on the house. Boy, I sure do hope we get a little farther along on the house before it gets cold again! I always joke about living at "Green Acres" but now I'm beginning to think it's TRUE!!! "Darlin', just give me Park Avenue" is going to be my new mantra.

Today is a very special day....eleven years ago, today, my first grandchild, Zachary, was born. He was born at 24 weeks and weighted just under one pound. God answered our prayers and today he's a very smart, handsome young man and to his delight is almost as tall as his Grammy. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ZACHARY!!! Grammy loves you.

Yippee!!! It's looking more like a house.

The rock is coming along and now the front door is in. Of course it took the place of the bedroom window for now. Eventually that will be the living room but for now I have a really unusual headboard for my bed! Oh my, I had no idea this project was going to take forever.

Holy moly...you want me to have a hole like this in my bathroom???!!! Who needs skylights when you have a wall hole? Just kidding...it got "fixed" the same day, temporarily, but at least it's keeping the bugs out.

Adding the family room

Adding the family room
It seemed so simple to just add on room, but I never dreamed it would be so hard to decide where to put the windows and doors!

This was a scary day! Please no rain! It stayed bright and sunshiny.

Welcome to my office. My friend insists I live at Green Acres!

Welcome to my blog

This is our home, an old farmhouse built in 1920 or thereabouts. (Two teeny tiny closets) I fondly (??) refer to it as "The Shack". This is what it looked like in the beginning. We're completely re-doing the whole house and will be adding on to it. I'll be posting pictures of the progession of our project. We're doing most of the work ourselves so it is very slow going. It's taken us two years to get as far as we are now. I figure at the rate we're going we'll finish in the year 2525. I didn't ask God to teach me patience but I think He's certainly teaching it to me. I'll be posting pictures from time to time.
